In 2001 Ahmady co-organized an unofficial parallel project to the biennale presenting the first Afghan artist in the history of the Venice Biennial. Roya Ghiasy's installation, We Welcome the Minister of Culture of Afghanistan hailed by critics to explore ideas of authority and perception in the spheres of art, culture, and politics.
