I Dream of the Stans surveyed the range of powerful new works by seven of the most important contemporary artists and teams in Central Asia and Afghanistan. It centered on the remarkably strong single and multi-channel video works produced in the region, a fact often attributed to the region's centuries-old traditions of storytelling, street theater, and weaving. After debuting in NYC, the exhibition traveled to the Museum of Contemporary Art, El Salvador.
