Alexander Ugay (Kazakhstan) was born in 1978 in Kyzylorda city, and currently lives and works in Almaty, Kazakhstan. He attended St. Petersburg Marine College from 1995-97 and then resumed studies at Bishkek State University in Kyrgyzstan from 1998-2002. It was in 1998 at Museum Architectural Studio in Bishkek where he finally decided to become an artist. In 1999 Ugay and a few other artists founded a group known as Bronzepoed, and held their first exhibition.
